this is a gathering to build intersectional solidarity — a community space where we learn/unlearn and reflect on our actions so that we can collectively resist and care for one another.
we agree to uphold these guidelines, and to act with care, respect, and responsibility in all ways that support collective safety and solidarity
te tiriti o waitangi 1840 binds us together — let we (tangata tiriti) uphold and embrace values – manaakitanga, rangatiratanga, tikanga, and kaitiakitanga. may these values and the collective vision engraved in Te Tiriti guide and inspire us towards social justice for all.
te aro pā — we acknowledge and uphold the manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga offered to us (tangata Tiriti) by ngā tūpuna katoa and ngā rangatira katoa of te aro pā.
care for the community – respect boundaries, identities, disabilities, cultural practices, and access needs.
consent always – ask before photographing, recording, or quoting.
share space – listen deeply. uplift marginalised voices. ttep up when needed; step back when necessary.
prioritising safety – the wellbeing of elderly people, whānau with accessibility needs, and children will always be an SOS priority.
collective responsibility – support volunteers, koha appreciated if you can. let us maintain the space, and care for one another.
zero tolerance for harm – casteism, colourism, racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism, queerphobia, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, classism, glorification of genocide or fascism, harassment or intimidation
if harm occurs – SOS prioritises the safety and needs of those harmed.
